Community-Based Family Planning and Reproductive Health Programs

The Extending Service Delivery Project's community-based RH/FP efforts are implemented within a long-term vision of improved health and well-being of the men, women, youth and children of the community.

ESD takes a comprehensive approach to providing family-centered RH/FP services. Our work at the community level involves facility-based providers, community outreach  workers and the community members themselves.

Our overall objective:

To increase access to and use of quality family planning services that are available at both facility level (with a focus on primary health care centers) and the community level (emphasizing outreach workers and community-based distribution programs). Ultimately, improved local availability and quality of services will lead to better maternal, neonatal and child health outcomes.
